Article#7: Humanity
It’s a bit surprising even for me to write this article instead of a planned one that is based on an inspiring historical event. But the moment I experienced something strange today allowed me to articulate it. we help each other as human, but are we ready to help someone whom we are not aware at all that too when we ourselves are already in a difficult situation? There exists only such less people in this world who make us feel that humanity do exist. Here I start.
I think there’s a strong, strange connection between myself and rains, either the moment I step out, the rain starts or the moment the rain starts, I step out. Yes, it happened again, similar to the incident that I experienced just around 3 weeks ago as I described in my Article#1. But this time to my surprise, it seemed to be some problem with my bike. I was able to start it, reached some distance wherein the mean time I noticed a few drops on my head. I thought it just vanishes as from one week we were not experiencing any rains. But no, slowly it increased as usual. Where am I? In between somewhere, neither near to office nor near to home. It may seem to you that I am exaggerating, but no, to be frank, this experience was even worse than the first. I thought I could have my rain coat, so stopped and tried to check it in my bag, but didn’t find it. Not sure if I would have forgotten it. Then I tried to start my bike again, but look at my luck, it didn’t start at all. Strange, never this happened earlier except once wherein it’s been more than a week since I filled the petrol. But this time, it’s been only 3 days since I got the tank full. Then what’s wrong with that? No idea, tried starting it again and again, no luck. Had no other option, but to get down and to have a long walk in the rain with my bike. After reaching some distance, I again tried to start it, but of no use. Then I got some doubt, is it that my petrol got ended? How come that thing happen? I have been driving it for almost one year, and it’s always enough if I get the petrol filled once in a week. But now it’s not been a week since I filled it. Several thoughts, is it the reason that I got it filled the last time in a different bunk other than the usual one? Is it that my mileage started sinking down? Is it that there exists some other problem with my bike due to which although there’s petrol, it’s not starting? Unable to arrive any conclusion yet, but have to investigate on this. Got some idea to get the tank full and then try to start. Reached by walk along with my bike to a nearby bunk. But it was already 11:00 PM and it got closed. I know there’s one more in a kilometre distance. So continued my walk and reached there. My fate, it got closed too. I decided not to give up, went inside and requested the people there. But they were too busy in counting their money that they didn’t even have time to look at my face, just that they were nodding their head in a no, not at possible fashion.
Within another 3 kilometers distance, there exists one more bunk. So I thought I should give a try there as well. Started my walk as usual with my bike on the side. The pouring didn’t stop, it’s doing its job and I was moving slowly due to lack of greater visibility. The reason why I didn’t stop anywhere was because I thought if I spend some more time in between, I might not reach any of the bunks and might be left without any option to go home. Then came this stranger from my back. Asked me, what happened? I told him that I was not aware of the issue why the bike was not starting, but I was thinking that I could give a try with my tank full. He told that he would help me. Even he was completely wet with the downpour like me, still he managed to place one of his leg on my bike’s stand and started driving his bike slowly. I wondered. He was already experiencing difficulty in the rain, but still he was ready to help me even though he doesn’t know me at all. I came across known people who escaped from helping me when the time came, but this man was a stranger, a savior. He drove me in that way for 3 kilometers and we reached that bunk. I thought he would leave for the night. But to my surprise, he went inside and met people at the bunk, asked them to get my tank full. Then he told that those people are his friends. I was a bit relieved. I just asked his name, He told, Aamir. I thanked him for all his help. I got my tank full in the bike and when I tried to start, it worked. Great, what else is required? I started driving home. The rain was too much as expected. I was not able to move for 5 minutes due to a flood of water in between and that time when some vehicle passed by, there was no need for me to have an external bath. To my surprise, the twist here was, the way I reached almost near home, there was no rain at all. The roads were dry. See, that’s the connection I have with the rain :-)
The only inspiring thing to take here is what Aamir did. I would like to thank him from the bottom of my heart and also salute to Aamir, as well as people like him who are ready to help anyone irrespective of their personal relationship with them. Really, such people are an example for humanity. Aamir inspired me a lot today to help anyone even though we ourselves are in a difficult situation. But did he inspire you? Give a thought :-)
Here comes the end of my seventh article, “Humanity”. Hope the next article will be another inspiring one with a historical background as planned. Will be back soon :-) :-)
