Today, I am going to talk about my recent trip to Ladakh.  It was September 2024, my second solo visit to Ladakh, this time via air. While I was waiting eagerly to see the mountains from the flight, the AMS(Acute Mountain Sickness) was also waiting for me to deboard the flight. Do remember this AMS as it's the villain of my story today.  It was a bright sunny day, the slight touch of the cold winds reminded me of my first experience with Himalayas in Kashmir. The mesmerizing mountains, the sky-blue skies, the crispy clouds and the scintillating sunshine simply made my day.  But then, the twist in the tale happened that evening. I was already having mild cold ...

I found everyone to be quite happy, not sure if they were genuinely happy for my wedding or they were happy because even I was going to experience the same day to day drama that happens in every household. Nevertheless, as soon as I started calling my friends they said, "Giridhar, We need a Bachelor Party" "What? You have to ask someone who weeps for a glass of wine, not someone who craves for a flask of coconut water...

A mentor is someone who guides the other person in any field. At some point or the other, every one of us need someone’s assistance in a particular aspect or aspects. Do you agree? Now don’t tell me that we can Google or chatgpt everything these days, then I would say they are your mentors.  Well, today I am going to narrate the role of mentors in my life. Starting with my mom, the most important life skill in which she mentored me was cooking. I learnt it from my mom through the phone calls.  "Hello Mom, Tamarind juice was added more in the Tamarind Rice" "That's ok, add some more plain rice. It would balance" "Hello Mom, Sambar is little spicy now" "That's ok, add Jaggery. The taste gets balanced" And the list goes on. I understood that whatever you make, if it isn't up to the mark, you can always repair and even set it as per your expectations. I wonder how I always felt that cooking was a tough job until my mentor mom made it easy...

Article #81 : A Foreign Girlfriend

How many of you went on a solo trip before? Did you feel like travelling solo multiple times after coming from each trip? Well, being an experienced soul on this earth, I prefer going solo every time and today I am going to share one of those stories wherein I encountered with a foreign girlfriend.  It was August 2023, my first visit to the blue city of India, Jodhpur. In order to experience the local culture, I stayed at a homestay in one of the small lanes near ghantaghar or the famous clock tower. Being a history buff, I loved the design of the rooms, walls and even doors that resembled the ancient times. With a view of the mighty Mehrangarh Fort from the window of the room, I felt like living in a different era as if someone was welcoming me by saying, "Sawdhan, Marwar ka Rajkumar, Giridhar padhaar rahe hai". But unfortunately, the feeling didn't last longer as suddenly I could hear someone knocking the door. As soon as I opened, I could see a beautiful foreign girl s...

How many of you like to watch movies? Do you also aspire to become an actor or an actress in your life? But what are you going to do when life doesn't give you a chance for your aspiration? Well, Today I am going to narrate the story of an unconventional actor to answer these questions. Once upon a time in one of the small towns of India, there was a born actor named Giridhar. Ever since childhood, he used to love acting so much that he used to feel the characters that he watched in a film or a TV Show. Sometimes he used to play the role of a hero like Shaktimaan and sometimes he used to become the villain, Khilwish, "Andhera kayam rahega hamesha". He didn't even leave the overacting ladies in the daily soap operas, who give only one expression most of the times with one word, "Kya, Kya, Kya" From imitating the characters to repeating the dialogues to dressing up like an actor, Giridhar used to do many things as a kid. Obviously, he used to be the first part...

Article #79 : A Possessive Girlfriend

How many of you felt possessive about someone or something in your life? Do you think being possessive is a good thing? Well, if you ask me, I would say it doesn't make any sense if Paneer gets possessive about coriander and does not let it be used anywhere except along with it. But what if Pav gets possessive of it's bhaji when bhaji tries to team up with bajji? Doesn't it(I mean the possessiveness) seem logical here as Pav and Bhaji are made for each other? Alright, Let's explore the feeling of possessiveness from the perspective of a girlfriend today. Before talking about the possessive girlfriend, let me introduce you to her boyfriend, Hari who comes from a small town and establishes himself as a renowned chef just like Saffron that comes from a small flower and is one of the most expensive spices in the world. Then we have his girlfriend, Pari or I must say, the possessive girlfriend Pari who is a fashion designer by profession.  The initial days of their relations...

Article #78 : Benching

How many of you heard the term "Benching" in the context of the modern dating era? Well, it simply means keeping a person as a backup in case if someone is not able to find or continue their relationship with whom they like to. More or less, it is similar to the concept of Bench in our corporate world wherein we would be called to fill someone's position or role if they are not able to find or continue the project with a primary person. With the overload of Technology, these days finding a partner for dating is no tough job. Two right swipes on an app lead to the meeting of two wrongly wiped people, Tinku and Rinku.  Tinku meets Rinku in a pinku city, I mean Pink city Jaipur. Their first conversation goes well at a nearby cafe to the popular Hawa Mahal although they couldn't get the required 'Hawa', I mean air at the place. They exchange their contacts before the moments change. They feel that they have a chemistry although they are a mystery for each other. T...
