Article #85 : Exhilarating, Excruciating and Exoticizing

How many of you have an ex-boyfriend or an ex-girlfriend in your life? Common, let's be honest for a while. Did you bump into your ex anytime? If yes, was it an exhilarating or excruciating or exoticizing experience?

Well, without beating much around the bush, let me share with you today my exhilarating, excruciating and exoticizing experiences with my ex.

Starting with the Exhilarating Experience..

It was 2010, I was in the final year of my college. Just two more days and we would have our final semester exams post which it was the end of college life.

It was a bright sunny day as if the sun was laughing at the fullest. My right eye started twitching which denotes good for men, but in the very next minute, my left eye also twitched and then expect the unexpected happened in the form of my Ex coming towards me after 3 years.

"Hi Giridhar, How are you doing?"

"Fine, how come the Sun is raising in the west today?"

"Very funny, I came to give my slam book"

"You slammed the conversations all these years and now giving me slam book?"

"Yes, because we have to focus on our studies. Now look at us, both of us are having a job in hand"

"Oh that means you want to resume our conversations "

"No I have already seen you roaming with one of our juniors"

"I was only roaming, not romancing"

"Whatever, just fill my slam book"

And she left the place. Although it was a small conversation, it was an exhilarating experience for me as I could talk to her after a long time.

4 years passed by and the excruciating experience was waiting for me.

It was the week of my sister's wedding and everyone of us were busy at our home. Early in the morning, I was awakened to pick my relatives from the railway station.

It was a rainy day as if the clouds were crying continuously. In my Tousled hair and Tight night suit, I bumped into my ex at the railway station. It was excruciating to see her along with Ganesh, a senior of our college.

"Hi Giridhar, What's up with you? You know Ganesh right, we got married a couple of years ago"

"Hi.... And Bye"

That moment, I felt sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I wasn't in Ganesh's place and Happy because I wasn't in Ganesh's place. I could see Poor Ganesh holding two bags in his two hands and our queen trying to do a ramp walk on the railway station. But it ended up more in an excruciating experience as I recollected our good old college days again with my ex.

4 more years passed by and our college get together happened.

It was a pleasant evening as if the sun was bidding adieu to the earth. As I was waiting at a park for my friends to reach, a cute little girl came towards me and said,

"Hi Giridhar Uncle"

"Hi Cutie Pie, how come you know my name and call me brother, I am not Uncle yet"

"Ha Ha, I love you as a friend"

That was my proposal to my ex during our college. I was surprised for a while and then my ex arrived again.

"Hey Giridhar, it's my daughter Ishanvi"

"Cute, you still remember my proposal "

"Obviously, it was an exoticizing one"

This time not sure if I ran out of emotions, I was neutral. Just like that proposal, my feelings as well as the experience were exotic, maybe because so many years passed by and I moved on from my ex.

Meeting your ex or any past relationship on that note, either by chance or by choice can be uncomfortable, awkward and even embarassing. But trust me, it is not that difficult to accept, move on and embrace the reality along with the passage of time. All I would say from my experience is give time some time and things will automatically fall in place. What do you say?
